MOSCOW, Aug 29 New version of the project » Stop double» to prevent repeat voting will be used in the by-elections of State Duma deputies for four vacant seats in single-mandate constituencies, this will ensure the purity of the results, Ella Pamfilova, head of the Russian Central Election Commission, said in an interview.
«In four regions where by-elections of State Duma deputies will be , we will test a new version of the Stop Double project, modified on the basis of the experience of 2021, in order to prevent multiple voting,» Pamfilova said.
According to the head of the CEC, this project is very important in order to ensure the cleanliness of elections and «neutralize a number of possible provocations.»
Elections in Russia will be held on a single voting day on 10 September. The Central Election Commission reported that elections of senior officials were planned in 21 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as additional elections of State Duma deputies for four vacant seats in single-mandate constituencies. Elections are scheduled in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
