PhD, financial analyst Mikhail Belyaev, in an interview with Lenta.ru, said that in October this year the dollar could again reach the mark of 100 rubles per unit. According to the expert, the condition for this scenario is the preservation of the current monetary rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
As Belyaev noted, in the short term, if nothing changes, there will be a consistent and monotonous decrease in the Russian national currency against dollar. He pointed out that the dollar is already worth 95-96 rubles, which means that in September, if there are no sharp jerks, it will be possible to see an indicator of 98 rubles per dollar. According to the expert, if the Central Bank decides to restrain the growth of the dollar against the ruble by raising the key rate, then the regulator will only exacerbate the fall of the ruble against the US currency.
Belyaev stressed that now it is definitely impossible to exclude the possibility that that the dollar will again cost 100 rubles, which can happen quite quickly. He added that this may not happen in September, but in October, if the situation does not change, it will be possible to observe the rate of 100 rubles per dollar again.
