MOSCOW, Aug 29 Residents of the DPR, LPR , Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will be able to vote in other regions of Russia in the September elections, 329 extraterritorial polling stations are open for them, Ella Pamfilova, head of the CEC of the Russian Federation, said in an interview.
«It was proposed to open extraterritorial sites … for residents of the Donetsk, Luhansk People's Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions in those regions where there is a concentration of residents of these regions. We have 329 such sites on the territory of Russia, where residents of these four constituent entities of the Russian Federation can vote for candidates for the legislative bodies of their regions,» Pamfilova said.
The head of the CEC of Russia drew attention to the fact that the extraterritorial polling stations in the form in which they are used during the 2024 election campaign are the first time, because for the first time this was introduced into federal legislation, based on the fact that many residents of the four new constituent entities of Russia are in other regions for various reasons.
«And, of course, we are obliged to provide them with the opportunity to vote in the elections that take place in their native land, where they are permanently registered,» she said.
Elections in Russia will be held on a single voting day on 10 September. Elections have been scheduled in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
