MOSCOW, 29 Aug. The conflict in Ukraine can be ended if viewed as a civil strife within a united Slavic people, writes analyst Brandon Weichert in an article for 19Fortyfive.
“If only American leaders saw the confrontation for what it was: an internal two branches of one nation,” the expert argues.
In his opinion, in this case, the dispute could be resolved through diplomacy, concessions and compromises.
“However, the leaders of the United States and NATO did not want to accept the reality. Instead, they chose to thoughtlessly feed hopes to Ukraine and send deadly military aid,» Weichert said.
He recalled that no financial subsidies and arms supplies to Kiev could shake Russia's position. The moment has come when the West must find a compromise solution to the conflict, the author concluded.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stressed that Russians and Ukrainians are one people, even though some of the inhabitants of the neighboring country were intimidated, and many fooled by nationalist propaganda followed the path of Bandera and other Nazi henchmen.
