The Tagansky District Court of Moscow fined the German publication Deutsche Welle 400,000 rubles under a protocol on the absence of a «foreign agent» marking on publications (Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This was reported by the correspondent of Mediazona.
At the same time, there is an error in the name of the publication in the case card — the person involved is indicated there as Deutshe Welle.
The reason for the protocol was the videos on YouTube- channel of the publication under the titles “Is Chekhov, Dostoevsky and Turgenev really canceled in Germany?” and «Russian tank in Riga and protest rallies». They were published on February 27 and 26 this year.
In early February 2022, the German authorities banned the broadcasting of the RT channel in German. This decision was explained by the lack of the necessary license.
At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry stopped satellite broadcasting of Deutsche Welle, closed the channel's correspondent office and withdrew accreditations from its journalists. The Ministry of Justice declared Deutsche Welle a «foreign agent» in March 2022, its website was blocked in Russia.
