The Ministry of Internal Affairs, amid a shortage of employees, softened the requirements for entering the service in the internal affairs bodies

The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, announced the entry into force of Law No. 436-FZ, which simplifies the procedure and conditions for entering the service in the internal affairs bodies. The bill itself was adopted in the State Duma on July 21, and Vladimir Putin signed it on August 4.

In particular, the amendments softened the age restrictions — earlier, to enter the service in the internal affairs bodies, it was required to be under 35-40 years old, depending on the position for which the applicant applied. Now age limits are determined depending on the special rank assigned upon entering the service.

“For example, when conferring special ranks of private and junior commanding staff, the age limit for entering the service is 50 years, for special ranks of middle and senior commanding staff, with the exception of the rank of colonel, it is 55 years,” Volk clarified.

In addition, the law that has entered into force excludes the institution of personal guarantee in relation to citizens who get a job in the internal affairs bodies, and simplifies the return to the service of those who have already worked in the police — they have the opportunity to conclude a contract for work for up to a year without a probationary period. term.

The innovations also provide for the possibility of continuing service by employees who, in the course of performing tasks in special conditions, were injured and found unfit for service for health reasons. “Those of them who wish to continue their service, have been awarded state awards of the Russian Federation for performing tasks in special conditions and are combat veterans, can be appointed to individually selected positions,” added Volk.

On August 10, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev spoke about a critical shortage of police personnel. “The shortage of personnel is very large. I would say that it is already critical. Over the past month, five thousand employees have left the internal affairs bodies. It's a difficult situation,” the minister said at the meeting.

Today, the BBC Russian Service published material on the shortage of personnel in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and related problems. Thus, according to the publication, the police are increasingly refusing to initiate criminal cases at the request of residents and do not always respond to calls with incoming complaints — the security forces are overwhelmed with paperwork, including due to the growth of administrative and criminal cases in connection with the war in Ukraine.< /p>

Many employees leave the internal affairs bodies due to paperwork and overtime, as well as low salaries. “Now, citizens like to inform on any hat in connection with the NWO, so more materials have appeared in the work. And this is again instead of investigating real cases. And so there are not enough people, and you send them to walk on these applications, when some grandmother saw a yellow-blue curtain, ”one of the former policemen from Tyumen told the BBC.
