The Federation Council discussed state support for the socio-economic development of Yakutia

YAKUTSK, August 30 meeting of the committee of the Federation Council, where they discussed state support for the socio-economic development of the region, the press service of the State Assembly (Il Tumen) of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) reports.
Representatives of the Committee of the Federation Council on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, Local Self-Government and Affairs of the North headed by Senator Andrey Shevchenko paid a working visit to Yakutia.
The delegation got acquainted with the objects under construction of the republic: the Zhatay shipyard, the reconstruction of the runway of the international airport “Yakutsk” named after Platon Oyunsky, the objects of the NEFU named after. M.K. Ammosov, Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital.
The visit resulted in a discussion of the implementation of the resolution of the Federation Council of December 23, 2022 “On state support for the socio-economic development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)”.

As Aleksey Yeremeev, speaker of the regional parliament, noted, the resolution was signed on December 23, 2022, that is, after the formation of budget processes for 2023. “But, nevertheless, in terms of some items, we managed to get to 2023, for example, for the repair of NEFU hostels and other facilities. But, of course, the main scope of execution will be in 2024, 2025 and 2026. We are very much looking forward to 2024 year, because the commission on budgetary projections of the federal center will be held in September,” he said.
Eremeev stressed that Yakutia expects to receive federal support from 2024 for the construction of the republican infectious diseases clinical hospital, as well as the Higher School of Music.
“We are very grateful to the Federation Council and personally to Valentina Ivanovna Matviyenko for her principled position on financing the construction of a bridge across the Lena in a ratio of at least 50 percent from the federal budget. Whereas before this decree was issued, the federal center was in favor of a ratio of 33 percent expenses from the federal budget… In general, I assess the progress in the execution and implementation of the resolution of the Federation Council positively. And I am completely sure that the resolution will be fully implemented. Because the Federation Council has a principle: if the resolution is adopted, then it must be executed 100 percent,” the speaker added.
