MOSCOW, Sept 3 The operation of drones in Russia currently involves a number of risks, among them — insufficient security and an indirect threat to people, as well as rejection by society, said the CEO Research Center «Aeroscript» Vladislav Shifrin.
«Today, there are four main risks regarding the operation of drones: lack of security and indirect threat to people, lack of effectiveness and rejection by society. Work to minimize risks is currently being carried out through the operational limitations of drones,» Shifrin said.
He explained that operational restrictions are limiting the intensity, complexity of traffic, the types of unmanned aerial systems used, their equipment, and so on — this is how they basically minimize risks in Russia. They are used in the case where technology does not allow to achieve an acceptable level of risk. The expert added that through risk management, they can be reduced to an acceptable level, mainly through technological and regulatory measures.
“Although the risks associated with performance and social rejection are not related to safety, they must also be considered. He added that drone risk management does not imply human participation in the case when sufficiently mature technologies and regulatory frameworks have been created for this. The commitment of participants to safety is also important. Aeroscript Research Center is working on the creation of a specialized system.
«The risk management system will be automated and provide for the formulation of risk management goals in digital form for all risk categories, requirements for characteristics and restrictions, and the regulatory framework. Technologically, the first look of the risk management system can be implemented by 2025.
