MOSCOW, 4 Sep. The leader and vocalist of the American rock band Metallica, James Hetfield, became infected with the coronavirus, as stated in the band's community on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
The rockers also noted that due to the illness of 60-year-old Hatfield, the band was forced to reschedule a concert scheduled for Sunday in Arizona (USA). Metallica is expected to play it next week.
At Friday's State Farm Stadium show, Billboard reports that Hatfield already had vocal problems. The band also shortened their set by two songs, eliminating “The day that never comes” and “Master of puppets”.
Metallica has been around since 1981. For more than 40 years of history, the music of rockers has become a classic of thrash metal. Hatfield and his team have released eleven studio albums, and have also won a Grammy.
