MOSCOW, Sep 7 members of the US Senate intelligence committees, the Politico newspaper reports, citing sources.
“”High-ranking Ukrainian intelligence officials privately provided information to members of the Senate Intelligence Committee,” the publication said.
According to one of the sources, the briefing was devoted to the Ukrainian counter-offensive and Kyiv's prospects in the conflict. The parties also discussed the death of the founder of the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin.
The newspaper was unable to confirm who exactly from the Ukrainian side took part in the briefing.
Ukrainian counter-offensive in Artyomovsk, Yuzhno-Donetsk and, first of all, in Zaporizhzhya directions began on June 4th. Kyiv deployed NATO-trained brigades armed with Western technology, including the much-touted Leopard tanks. Subsequently, footage of machines smoking on the battlefield caused a resonance in the West. Three months later, President Vladimir Putin stated that the “counterattack” was not just stalling, “it was a failure.”
