BISHKEK, Sep 7 contacts with the United States, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Thursday during a press approach at the seminar «Strengthening the Nuclear Nonproliferation Regime» in Bishkek.
«We do not rarely have contacts at the working levels. In various aspects, we continue the whole range of issues related to humanitarian cases, visa cases, the functioning of foreign agencies, consular services for citizens. Something that cannot be done between states and governments», — said the diplomat.
According to Ryabkov, at the same time, there is no dialogue on «major» issues between the Russian Federation and the United States because of «the unwillingness of the United States to discuss topics that are senseless to consider without Russia and bypassing Russia.»
«We proceed from this. No «initiatives» from our country in terms of addressing the Americans» let's discuss this or that» are expected, there will be no news in this direction. But on international platforms, in multilateral formats There are contacts. This is quite normal. At least we ourselves never refuse these contacts, we do not leave them,» the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation emphasized.
According to the Deputy Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Russian Federation will observe what is happening «in terms of positioning Washington as a participant in various international processes.»
«Will the Americans finally wallow in their own overwhelming confidence that they can either alone or in the circle of their closest satellites and like-minded people solve the issues that they need. If yes, then further delimitation of international relations, the separation of global civilization blocs, coalitions, associations and «hanging out» — all this will continue. But the blame for this will lie entirely with Washington,» Ryabkov specified.
