In the Rostov region, a man was detained, accused of shooting with a traumatic weapon at another person in Bataysk; a case of attempted murder was opened against him (part 3 of article 30; clause “i” of part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Investigative Committee.
As the department clarified, in connection with the shooting that occurred on September 3, the Ministry of Internal Affairs also opened a case of hooliganism (Article 213 of the Criminal Code). At the same time, the criminal case was transferred from the police to the regional Investigative Committee “due to public outcry.”
The victim’s relatives told the publication 1rnd and the telegram channel “Caution, News” that the attack occurred on a man named Vyacheslav. He fought as part of the Wagner PMC in Ukraine and returned from the war shortly before the incident.
The Telegram channel, with reference to its interlocutor, wrote that on the day of the attack, Vyacheslav was walking with a friend in the Lenin Park of Culture and Leisure. Near the Clover cafe, the military man “came into contact with an unfamiliar man.” Then, from another establishment, “visitors of our country, from 10 to 20 people, visually ran out” and beat the mercenary. Then the one with whom the conflict initially arose shot Vyacheslav several times. One of the bullets hit the head and the man was hospitalized in serious condition.
