MOSCOW, Sep 7 US commercial oil stocks (excluding the strategic reserve) for the week ended September 1 fell by 6.3 million barrels, or 1. 5%, — up to 416.6 million barrels, follows from the weekly review of the energy information department of the country's energy ministry.
Analysts polled by the DailyFX portal had expected a decline of only 2.1 million barrels.
Oil stocks at the country's largest terminal in Cushing fell to 27.4 million barrels from 29.2 million.
At the same time, US gasoline inventories fell by 2.7 million barrels (1.2%) to 214.7 million barrels. Analysts were expecting a reduction of 1 million barrels. Distillate inventories rose by 0.7 million barrels (0.6%) to 118.6 million barrels. An increase of 0.2 million was predicted.
