MOSCOW, September 7 First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin create a ministry for migration in the future, the deputy's press service reported on his telegram channel.
«…We need to create, and, by the way, I turned to the president about this and suggested considering the possibility of creating a ministry for migration in the future, not now,» Zatulin's press service quoted Zatulin as saying in the message.
The parliamentarian noted that there is no responsible executor for a well-thought-out migration policy in Russia, now these functions are entrusted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. «The Ministry of Internal Affairs is a specialist in the fight against crime, in theory. How can we assume that the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which is a specialist in the fight against crime, can solve economic, social, national, foreign policy problems? This is not his destiny,» Zatulin believes.
He stressed that the Ministry of Internal Affairs, like the FSB, will always play a big role in ensuring the migration process. However, where to create privileges for migrants to go there, where, on the contrary, not to create them, where to draw migration flows from, where, on the contrary, to block them — these are still issues of big politics, Zatulin noted.
