“In general, over the seven months of 2023, GDP increased by more than two percent,” he said.

The Prime Minister noted the consolidation of economic growth , which began in the third quarter. Thus, in July, in annual terms, GDP exceeded the level of 2022 by five percent, and the level of two years ago – by almost one percent.

Mishustin clarified that a number of industries are showing good indicators: metallurgy, food industry, production of clothing, furniture, plastic products. In July, the industry showed almost five percent growth. In seven months, the manufacturing industry grew by more than six percent. The production of computers, electronics and optics soared by 30 percent, and electrical equipment by more than 20 percent.
“All this suggests that Russian business continues to confidently adapt to external challenges,” Mishustin noted.
At the end of the second quarter, investment activity increased by almost 13 percent. The increase in investment was largely ensured by the organizations' own funds. In total, in the first half of the year the volume of investments amounted to seven trillion rubles.
