NIZHNY NOVGOROD, September 9 Writer Zakhar Prilepin voted in the elections for governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region while in a hospital ward.
According to the press service of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Prilepin applied to vote outside the polling station, so members of the precinct election commission visited him in the chamber with a portable ballot box.
“»I don’t even remember when I voted: God knows where I was. But here it’s convenient: the station is in the hospital, they even came to my room. I finally feel like a citizen. Quite seriously: yesterday The commander-in-chief came to the region, they told him about our new training center «Stal» (in the Nizhny Novgorod region, in case you don't know), where our new units — «Rodnya» and others — are training; well, in general, all this imposes responsibility. And we We accept it. And we recommend it to everyone else,” Prilepin wrote in his Telegram channel.
Prilepin's car was blown up on May 6 in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The writer was wounded, his comrade-in-arms, a soldier of the Oplot battalion of the Russian Guard, Alexander Shubin, died. The police quickly detained a man who may be involved in the explosion; he has been charged under articles of terrorism and illegal trafficking in explosives.
