PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, September 10 Tourists attacked an inspector of a natural park in Kamchatka, which is located near Avachinsky and Koryaksky volcanoes, reported the press service of the Volcanoes of Kamchatka natural park.
«They (tourists) drove towards the Koryaksky volcano along an unspecified route. They disturbed the soil cover and trampled vegetation. I tried to return them to the parking lot, but they drove on. They refused to provide identification documents,» the press service quotes inspector Yana Anishchenkova.
The video, which was provided to the park by eyewitnesses, shows how a passenger in the offending car is trying to forcibly remove the inspector from his path. The man was also moving the installed railing. Police officers were called to the scene. It is not yet known whether they detained the violators.
The territory of the Avachinsky pass between the Koryaksky and Avachinsky volcanoes, where the incident occurred, is part of the Nalychevo cluster of the Volcanoes of Kamchatka natural park. Movement there is possible only along established routes and roads.
