
MOSCOW, September 10 The number of people who were poisoned in St. Petersburg while ordering food increased to 171, Rospotrebnadzor writes in its Telegram channel.
«In the department of epidemiology, parasitology and disinfectology with the group for accounting and registration of infectious and parasitic diseases of the FBUZ «Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the city of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region» 171 cases of acute intestinal infections were registered, including in 2 children,» — writes the department.
Most were found to have E. coli, eight had salmonella.
So far, 99 people, including children, remain in hospitals.
The poisoning became known on September 8. People ordered food from the Green Box company through the Samokat service. Initially, 34 people were reported to have been poisoned, but the next day their number reached 69.
Rospotrebnadzor revealed gross violations of sanitary standards in the production premises of Green Box. The Samokat grocery and prepared food delivery service announced the organization of an inspection of the storage and transportation conditions of products. The company suspended cooperation with the supplier until the completion of inspections.
A protocol on a temporary ban on activities was drawn up in relation to Green Box.
