MOSCOW, September 15 The daughter of Soviet and Russian actor Mikhail Ulyanov, graphic artist Elena Ulyanova, died this morning, said director of the Vakhtangov Theater Kirill Krok.
The theater reports with regret that Elena Ulyanova, the daughter of the great Vakhtangov players Mikhail Ulyanov and Alla Parfanyak, passed away at the age of 64.
Elena Ulyanova played an invaluable role in preserving the memory of her father, the great Russian artist, she founded and headed the charitable foundation “People's Artist of the USSR Mikhail Ulyanov.” With her participation, a monument to Ulyanov was created in his homeland in Tara, Omsk region, the Ulyanov Museum was opened in this city, and a monument was erected in the Omsk Russian Drama Theater, where he worked. Elena donated Ulyanov's personal office and numerous exhibits to the Vakhtangov Theater, which are carefully stored in the theater museum, and was the initiator of the opening of a memorial plaque on the house where the great artist lived.
