CHISINAU, September 16Exports of goods from Moldova in the first seven months of this year amounted to more than $2.3 billion, which is almost 11% less than the corresponding period last year; in particular, supplies to the EU decreased by 8%, but to the CIS countries they , on the contrary, increased by more than 13%, reports the National Bureau of Statistics.
““In January-July 2023, exports of goods amounted to 2346.5 million US dollars, which is 10.8% less than the corresponding period in 2022,” says a statement published on the bureau’s website.
According to the statistical service, including exports to the countries of the European Union in the first seven months amounted to more than $1.4 billion (8% less than for the corresponding period of 2022), which is 62.3% of total exports.
«»In January-July 2023, goods worth 585.3 million US dollars were exported to the CIS countries (68.1 million US dollars or 13.2% more compared to the same period in 2022) , which corresponds to 24.9% of total exports,” the bureau also reported.
It is clarified that the growth in exports to the CIS countries was mainly ensured by Ukraine (by 66.9 million US dollars or 20.3% more compared to January-July 2022).
