BELGOROD, September 16 The intensity of shelling in the Belgorod region over the past 24 hours decreased by approximately 63% on Friday, follows from the report of the regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkova.
On Saturday, the governor in his Telegram channel published information about Ukrainian strikes on the region on September 15: four border areas were shelled, the total number of shells fired was 30, including 4 explosive devices dropped from drones. On Friday, two drones were shot down over the Belgorod region and the Shebekinsky district. Since September 10, there was a high intensity of Ukrainian shelling, the daily number of shells fired exceeded 110, but by the end of the week this intensity began to decline. For example, on Thursday only 81 shells were fired from various types of weapons, and on Friday the number of attacks decreased by another 63%.
«In the Shebekinsky urban district in the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, two explosive devices were dropped from a UAV, one enemy drone was shot down. 4 mortar shells were fired at the village of Terezovka and the village of Pankov,» Gladkov wrote.
He added that in the Belgorod region in the village of Shchetinovka, two fragmentation munitions were dropped from a drone. A Ukrainian quadcopter was shot down in the village of Razumnoye. In the Valuysky urban district, a total of 14 artillery shells were fired at the villages of Borki, Dolgoye and Kukuevka. In the Krasnoyaruzhsky district, the outskirts of the village of Terebreno were shelled four times from artillery.
According to Gladkov, on Friday, as a result of the Ukrainian shelling, there were no casualties or destruction in any of the region’s settlements.
Since April 11, 2022, a high (yellow) level of terrorist danger has been established throughout the Belgorod region. The need to introduce a regime is caused by the aggravation of the situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border and the increased activity of the Ukrainian military in the border areas. The length of the Ukrainian border with the Belgorod region is 350 kilometers.
