The Zvezda shipbuilding complex in the Primorsky Territory, the creation of the Primorsky Metallurgical Plant and the Engineering Center on Russky Island will become one of the drivers for the development of the Far East. Large-scale projects are officially supported by federal and regional authorities. Such conclusions can be drawn after the VIII Eastern Economic Forum, on the margins of which important cooperation agreements were signed. According to the press service of Rosneft PJSC, the company signed two documents – one with the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic and the second with the government of the Primorsky Territory. The first agreement was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft PJSC Igor Sechin and the Russian Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexey Chekunkov.
The Far East is one of the key regions of activity of the largest Russian oil company. Here it implements a number of projects that are of strategic importance not only for the socio-economic development of the Far Eastern regions, but also the economy of the country as a whole. The new agreement with the Ministry of Eastern Development provides for the interaction of the parties to create favorable conditions for the company's projects, including geological exploration, exploration and production of hydrocarbons in oil fields, development of oil refining and other assets of the company in the Far East.
Thus, one of the company’s key projects in the region is also the construction of the Zvezda shipbuilding complex in the Primorsky Territory, the creation of the Primorsky Metallurgical Plant and the Engineering Center on Russky Island. Among the company’s socially significant projects is a comprehensive program for housing construction in the Far Eastern regions, development of human resources, as well as support for educational and scientific programs. The parties also agreed to hold joint events to attract qualified personnel to enterprises in the region.
Note that the Zvezda shipyard became involved in another important agreement with the government of the Primorsky Territory. It was signed within the framework of the EEF by Igor Sechin and the Governor of the Primorsky Territory Oleg Kozhemyako.
According to the company's press service, the agreement provides for interaction between the parties in the implementation of various production, financial and social programs. The document, in particular, consolidates measures of support from the government of the Primorsky Territory for significant projects of the company in the region. One of the key ones is the Zvezda shipbuilding complex. The company is the leading employer in the region: today the shipyard employs 11,500 people. To create favorable social and living conditions for Zvezda employees in the city of Bolshoi Kamen, with the support of the government of the Primorsky Territory, a comprehensive housing construction program is being implemented.
Also among the large-scale projects of oil workers in the region is the Primorsky Metallurgical Plant with a capacity of 1.5 million tons per year and an Engineering Center on Russky Island.
In addition, Rosneft and the government of the Primorsky Territory agreed to expand the company’s interaction with regional suppliers and contractors, including through participation in tenders for the supply of goods and services for the needs of the company and its subsidiaries.
As part of the agreement, the parties also plan to develop cooperation in the field of education, training of qualified workers and engineers for the shipbuilding industry. Interaction with educational institutions of the region will continue to develop scientific, technical and innovative activities aimed at training future qualified specialists for the oil industry.
