VLADIVOSTOK, September 16 . The leader of the DPRK Kim Jong-un, as part of his visit to Primorye, visited the ballet extravaganza “The Sleeping Beauty” on the Primorsky stage of the Mariinsky Theater, the correspondent reports.
The press service of the theater clarified that all tickets were sold out for the performance on Saturday sold out.
The DPRK leader arrived in his limousine to the seaside stage of the Mariinsky Theater and went up to the central box on the 4th floor of the theater after the third bell. About five minutes later the ballet began. Kim Jong-un was accompanied into the hall by the Russian Ambassador to Pyongyang Alexander Matsegora, the head of the intergovernmental commission of the Russian Federation and the DPRK, the Minister of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov, and the Governor of Primorye Oleg Kozhemyako. Matsegora confirmed to reporters that he would sit next to the DPRK leader. Kim watched one act and left the hall. After the first act of the ballet, Kim Jong-un left the hall and headed to his limousine, the motorcade drove away from the theater, the correspondent reports.
The press service of the theater said that checks of spectators at the entrance have been stepped up today.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited Russia for the first time since 2019. On Tuesday, he arrived in Primorye on his armored train; at the Khasan station he was met by the head of the intergovernmental commission of the Russian Federation and the DPRK, the Minister of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov and the governor of Primorye Oleg Kozhemyako. On Wednesday, the North Korean leader held talks at the Vostochny cosmodrome with Russian President Vladimir Putin. On Friday, he visited the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Yuri Gagarin, where he looked inside a Superjet 100 aircraft. Next, a demonstration program of the Su-35 fighter took place for him, where the aircraft performed aerobatic maneuvers in the sky.
On Saturday, the DPRK leader arrived by train in Primorye. At the Knevichi airfield, he was introduced to the Tu-160 supersonic strategic missile-carrying bomber, the Tu-95MS turboprop strategic missile-carrying bomber and the Tu-22M3 long-range supersonic missile-carrying bomber. Kim and the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, who met the guest of honor, were presented with modern models of operational-tactical aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces. In addition, Shoigu presented the Russian Kinzhal missile system to the DPRK leader on the MiG-31I missile carrier at the Knevichi airfield. Kim Jong-un also got acquainted with the Russian long-haul passenger aircraft Tu-214. Further in Vladivostok, Comrade Kim was shown the frigate “Marshal Shaposhnikov”, modern missile control systems were demonstrated.
Pyotr Tchaikovsky's extravaganza ballet “The Sleeping Beauty” (libretto by Ivan Vsevolozhsky and Marius Petipa, based on the fairy tales of Charles Perrault) is being choreographed in Vladivostok Marius Petipa, revised by Konstantin Sergeev, Eldar Aliev, scenery and costumes by Vyacheslav Okunev, lighting designer – Alexander Naumov.
