Warsaw does not intend to revise the grain embargo due to Kyiv's claim at the WTO

WARSAW, September 18 Ukraine's complaint to the WTO does not impress Poland and will not force it to abandon the grain embargo, government spokesman Piotr Müller told Polsat News.
Earlier, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine stated that Kyiv filed claims with the World Trade Organization (WTO) against Poland, Hungary and Slovakia due to the ban on the import of Ukrainian products.
«We support our position. Such a complaint to the WTO does not impress us in the sense that we do not intend to deviate from the embargo we have imposed for this reason. We support our position, we believe that it is correct, it also follows from the economic analysis and powers that stem from both European and international law,» Müller said.

On September 15, the European Commission decided not to extend restrictions on the import of four types of Ukrainian agricultural products into several EU border countries, but obliged Kyiv to introduce export control measures. After this, the authorities of Slovakia, Hungary and Poland announced that they were extending the ban unilaterally. In particular, Hungary extended the ban on a national basis; 24 products were included in the list of prohibited imports. In addition to grains, the list includes various types of meat, poultry, eggs, honey, vegetables and wine.
