ST. PETERSBURG, September 21 A resident of St. Petersburg who hacked his wife to death with an ax and left her body in the bathroom with his hands tied was sentenced to 8 years in a maximum security colony, reports the press service of the city prosecutor's office .
“The court sentenced Pavlov to imprisonment for a period of 8 years to be served in a high-security correctional colony,” the statement says.
The court found that between January 16 and January 19, 2021, Roman Pavlov, while intoxicated in an apartment on Bolshevikov Avenue, found out relationship with your spouse. “During the quarrel, he grabbed an ax and hit the woman on the head at least 14 times. The victim’s death occurred at the scene,” the prosecutor’s office adds.
He then tied the woman's wrists with plastic zip ties and carried her body into the bathroom.
As the joint press service of the St. Petersburg courts added, Pavlov did not deny the factual circumstances, but could not remember the moment the crime was committed. After relatives contacted law enforcement agencies, the body was discovered by the police a few days later — in an apartment with a drunken husband.
