Now only women can use this right
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Russia plans to give men the right to direct unused funds of maternal (family) capital to form a funded pension. Discussion of the draft corresponding departmental order began on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
The decision to provide the opportunity to allocate part of the maternity capital to the formation of a pension was made back in February 2021. All three categories of women recipients of state payments can take advantage of this opportunity. Men were not given this right.
After the amendments to the rules for allocating funds to form a pension come into force, this will be corrected. Today, both adoptive parents and fathers of children can apply for maternity capital, the latter — in the event of the death of the child’s mother, who did not have citizenship of the Russian Federation.
