MOSCOW, September 25 One person died and four were injured as a result of an explosion caused by a gas leak at an oil refinery in the city of Bandar Abbas in the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan, said the head of the plant's public relations department, Seyed Mohammad Ali Mojtahed-zadeh.
Earlier, IRNA reported that the explosion occurred as a result of a gas leak at an oil refinery in the city of Bandar Abbas. The leak led to a gas condensate explosion.
“As a result of the incident, 5 people were injured, due to the severity of which one of them, unfortunately, died,” the Tasnim agency quotes Mojtahed-zadeh as saying.
He stated that the incident itself occurred on September 22 during planned emergency work in one of the processing shops, without affecting the production process. However, information about this appeared in the media only on Monday.
