In Moldova, the opposition protests at the anti-corruption center

CHISINAU, September 25 Opposition supporters in Moldova The Revival party is protesting at the building of the National Anti-Corruption Center against the arbitrariness of the authorities and demanding the release of detained political force leaders, the correspondent reports.
On September 21, the Moldovan prosecutor's office conducted 20 searches of the acting party chairman Natalia Paraska and other members of Revival in the case of illegal financing of the political formation. Parliament approved the request of the prosecutor's office and deprived Alexander Nesterovsky and Irina Lozovan of parliamentary immunity; on the same day they were detained for 72 hours, they are suspected of corruption, as well as illegal financing of political forces with the participation of the leader of the Shor party, banned in Moldova, Ilan Shor. On Saturday, the Chisinau court chose a preventive measure for Nesterovsky in the form of arrest for 30 days in a pre-trial detention center, Lozovan — house arrest for 30 days. The lawyers intend to appeal the decision to the Appeals Chamber.
«Under the pretext of an ongoing emergency, the authorities are creating complete lawlessness and anarchy. They are carrying out political reprisals. We are here today to demand freedom for our comrades, for those who express opinions different from the authorities. The National Center for Combating Corruption has turned into the National Center for the Fight against Corruption fight against the opposition,» said Olesya Vitnyanskaya, a representative of the political formation.

According to her, on Monday morning Natalya Paraska and party bureau member Yuri Vitnyansky were summoned for questioning. “My interrogation was scheduled for 9.00 (which coincides with Moscow time). Unfortunately, we have such an incompetent justice system that the prosecutor was not even ready to hear me. This is the level of Moldovan justice! And this means that they have no evidence whatever it is that they are trying to sew with white thread. And in relation to the rest of our colleagues, they have nothing,” Vitnyansky said, in turn.

Protesters oppose the dictatorship and demand the release of deputies, calling them “political prisoners.”

Last Friday, the Revival party held a similar protest near the building of the National Anti-Corruption Center, demanding the release of deputies and an end to “political repression.”
The Revival Party regularly holds pickets at government departments, representative offices of countries and EU organizations to draw attention to problems within the country. In July, political forces launched a collection of signatures to recognize the ruling Action and Solidarity party as unconstitutional. At the end of August, the political formation also announced the launch of the process of collecting signatures for the republic to join the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
