MOSCOW, September 27A Moscow resident was detained for storing an arsenal in a garage: there were several hundred rounds of ammunition, as well as a tank gun, anti-tank rifles and other types, the capital police reported on Wednesday.
Among other things, more than 380 grams of “propellant explosive — industrially produced smokeless powder” were seized from the 53-year-old suspect.
«When inspecting a garage on Vasily Botylev Street, police discovered and seized 828 items similar to cartridges, a tank gun, anti-tank rifles, shells, grenades, mines, electric detonators, electric igniter capsules, a fragment of an artillery mine with TNT, carbines, a rifle, cans of gunpowder, military smoke and pyrotechnics,” the press service said.
In addition, certain “items prohibited for civil circulation on the territory of the Russian Federation” were confiscated from the suspect’s home. Criminal cases have been initiated under two articles.
