MOSCOW, September 26 President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) ) Elena Vyalbe stated as part of the “Two Words” show that transgender people have no place in skiing, and advised them to go into figure skating.
In 2021, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) published a set of principles for international federations on the admission of transgender people to competitions. There, in particular, it was noted that “any athlete who meets the admission criteria must compete in the gender category in which he feels better.” That same year, the first transgender athlete took part in the Olympic Games.
“So we will soon “get to the mice.” I really hope that transgender people will not be allowed into cyclical sports. Let converted men go to figure skating so that people will make fun of them there. In rhythmic gymnastics. It will probably be a lot of fun too But in cyclic sports — no,” Vyalbe emphasized.
“In general, I would now suggest that the greatest athlete and the great leader of the entire sports movement, Thomas Bach, urgently open a new International Olympic Committee and call it gender re-gender, I don’t know how. And let all these people whose brains for some reason have stopped work normally, who, apparently, were born not from mom and dad, but from something else, so let them compete there. And they will even have fans. Let him lead it all. And let us, normal people don’t touch,” said the three-time Olympic champion.
Previously, the International Cycling Union (UCI) and World Athletics banned transgender athletes from participating in competitions with women. In June 2022, the International Swimming Federation (FINA; current name is World Aquatics) tightened the rules for the participation of transgender people in competitions.
“»Do you think that in Russia there will be a man who will come out and say that he wants to be with women «What the hell are transgender people in our country? And even in such a manly sport as cross-country skiing!» — summed up Vyalbe.
