Ural President Ivanov demanded that referees be punished for mistakes in RPL matches

MOSCOW, September 29 President of the Yekaterinburg football club «Ural» Grigory Ivanov called on not to leave refereeing errors unpunished in matches of the Russian Premier League (RPL).
The Expert Referee Commission under the President of the Russian Football Union (ESC RFU) previously recognized referee Vitaly Meshkov's decision to count Krasnodar's second goal in the 9th round match of the RPL against Ural (2:0) as erroneous. In the second half, Meshkov disallowed a goal by Krasnodar footballer Kevin Lenini after the linesman signaled for offside, but after the intervention of the referees in charge of the video assistant referees (VAR) system, the decision was changed.
“»The ESC's decision did not surprise us: it was clear that Krasnodar's second goal against our goal could not be counted. It's a shame that they once again suffered from a refereeing error against Ural. Now I wonder what sanctions will follow against judges who made the wrong decision,” the Telegram channel of the Yekaterinburg club quotes Ivanov.
«I repeat again: there should be no impunity for referees, but so far the practice is this way. For example, referee Bobrovsky, who did not give an obvious penalty in our favor in the cup match with Rubin, which was confirmed by the ESC, avoided suspension. I think that this is categorically wrong,” added the club president.
