Opposition politician Vladimir Kara-Murza, sentenced to 25 years in prison, was sent to a punishment cell in correctional colony No. 6 in Omsk for the second time in a row, where he has been staying for less than a month. His wife Evgenia Kara-Murza told about this on Facebook.
The politician was sent to isolation ward for 15 days, she wrote. Evgenia did not specify what was the reason for the new penalty.
For the first time, the politician was placed in a detention center immediately after arriving in the colony. Kara-Murza was taken from Moscow pre-trial detention center-5 «Vodnik» on September 4, the transfer took about three weeks, during which he was in pre-trial detention centers in Samara, Omsk, Penza and Chelyabinsk regions.
As the oppositionist’s lawyer Vadim Prokhorov explained, the reason for the first penalty was “a certain offense allegedly committed in pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Omsk during a very short period of his stay there.” It is unknown how many days the politician spent in the punishment cell for the first time.
Kara-Murza was detained in Moscow last April because he “changed his trajectory when he saw the police,” security officials claimed. A report of disobedience to police officers was drawn up against him (Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code) and he was arrested for 15 days. During his arrest, the politician learned that he had become involved in a case of military “fakes” because of a speech in the House of Representatives of the US state of Arizona (clause “e” of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code).
Later, charges of participation in the activities of an “undesirable organization”, and then in treason (Part 1 of Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code and Article 275 of the Criminal Code). These cases were based on the politician’s participation in the round table at the Sakharov Center, as well as his speeches in Lisbon, Oslo and Washington.

In Russian colonies, political prisoners are constantly sent to punishment cells, and the most stringent conditions are created for them. Yesterday, politician Alexei Navalny was placed in a single cell-type room (EPKT) for a year. Before this, the oppositionist was placed in a punishment cell 20 times.
Also this week, Moscow municipal deputy Alexei Gorinov, convicted in the case of military “fakes,” was sent to the isolation ward for the third time. On the same day, single father Alexei Moskalev was placed in a punishment cell for the fifth time, whom the court found guilty in a criminal case for “discrediting” the army.
