MOSCOW, September 29 Presidential Press Secretary Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that only the Ministry of Defense today can answer the question of whether Wagner can again participate in Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.
The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting in the Kremlin with Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and retired colonel Andrey Troshev. Earlier there were reports in the media that retired colonel Andrei Troshev is being considered as a successor to the founder of the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin. As Peskov stated, Troshev already works at the Ministry of Defense.
“Only the Ministry of Defense can answer this question… Therefore, I recommend that you contact them there with this question,” Peskov told reporters in response to a question, means did yesterday's meeting mean that «Wagner» will return to participate in the special operation.
When asked about Troshev's status within the Ministry of Defense, the Kremlin representative replied that «he works there.»
