Medvedev noted that the special operation will not end until “the liberation of the original Russian territories from the enemy.”

He added that at the referendums a year ago, residents of the new regions “made a fateful decision — to be with your Fatherland.» Their choice became not only a symbol of the restoration of historical justice, but also the unity, colossal will and dedication of the Russian people, the deputy head of the Security Council emphasized.
Referendums on the entry of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into Russia were held on September 23-27, 2022. In the DPR, 99.23% of voters were in favor of reunification, in the LPR — 98.42%, in the Kherson region — 87.05%, in the Zaporozhye region — 93.11%. On September 30, President Vladimir Putin spoke in the Kremlin following the results of the plebiscite, after which he signed agreements with their heads on the admission of regions to Russia.
