MOSCOW, September 28 A new species of tarantulas has been discovered in the south of Thailand, partly with a rare bright blue color, according to a study published on the ZooKeys website.
The spider was found in the jungle in the country's southern province of Phang Nga. It was named Chilobrachys natanicharum.
“We have found a new species of tarantula that has a mesmerizing blue-violet hue, reminiscent of electrical sparks,” said study leader Narin Chompuphuang from Khon Kaen University in Thailand.
As noted in the study, the color of the tarantula is remarkable to scientists, since a similar blue hue is extremely rare in nature.
