And sports officials themselves should not agree to this, they need to take responsibility and explain to the athletes. Six months ago I asked the boxers, they answered: “We will not go without a flag and an anthem.” And there is no need to think anything. Then they will treat us differently, there will be no sanctions,” the Kremlin said during the event.
«If we agree, it will only get worse. Previously, there were the Goodwill Games, and the IOC crap — immediately peace, friendship, chewing gum, let's come to an agreement,» he added.
In March 2023, the IOC recommended that international federations allow Russians who did not support the CBO to compete in a neutral status. At the same time, the organization proposed to deny athletes associated with the armed forces and security agencies, as well as national teams, in team disciplines. Some international federations make it a mandatory condition for Russians to be admitted to international competitions to sign a declaration condemning SVO.
