MOSCOW, October 4 The ex-head of Rusnano Anatoly Chubais sent a statement to the Khamovnichesky Court in Moscow, in which he asked to consider the case of theft from him without his participation 70 million rubles, the court reported.
“We received a statement to consider the case without his participation,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
Only its representatives will participate in the meetings. The next meeting is scheduled for October 19. This is already the second attempt to consider the case; previously it was transferred to another court, but it again returned to Khamovnichesky.
The criminal case was opened in 2016 at the request of Chubais himself by the main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow region. There are four defendants in the case: former chairman of the board of the management company Rusnano Ilya Suchkov, former member of the political council of the People's Freedom Party Musa Sadaev, two security guards Anton Polyakov and Alexey Ulyakhin. Now they are all under recognizance not to leave. Depending on the role of each, they are accused of theft and fraud on a particularly large scale.
As Chubais himself wrote on social networks, his former business partner Suchkov ran his Swiss company, and when officials were prohibited from doing business, he sold the company to him.
Then the issue arose with the mansion, which was registered to a Swiss company that took out loans for construction: Suchkov, according to Chubais, demanded that his former boss buy the property at an inflated price — $50 million.
Chubais, in his own words, refused, but they began to threaten him with the publication of recordings of his business conversations, after which he decided to go to the police with a statement against Suchkov and “a group of comrades of Chechen nationality working for him.”
Suchkov’s lawyer Sergei Shank has repeatedly asked to change the territorial jurisdiction of the criminal case to the court of the Canton of Zug (Switzerland), or to send the criminal case to the Odintsovo City Court of the Moscow Region.
