MOSCOW, Oct. 5 Flooding of populated areas is predicted this week in the Kamchatka and Khabarovsk territories due to high cyclone activity, warns the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergencies situations (VNII GOChS).
«Due to active cyclonic activity in the Kamchatka and Khabarovsk territories, the likelihood of flooding of low-lying areas in populated areas remains,» says a message on the website of the All-Russian Research Institute of Civil Defense and Emergencies.
Institute scientists note that in the Bering Sea, due to storms with wave heights of up to six meters, there is a risk of incidents with ships of all types.
