ST. PETERSBURG, October 5 Three teenagers were detained after attempting to set fire to the building of a transformer substation near the airport in Syktyvkar, they were detained in connection with an attempted terrorist attack, reported the RF SUSK for the Komi Republic.
«According to the investigation, three teenagers, acting as a group of people in a preliminary conspiracy with other unidentified persons, tried to damage and set fire to the building of a transformer substation located near the airport… in Syktyvkar. The defendants were unable to complete their plan due to circumstances beyond their control reasons,» the statement said. A criminal case was initiated under the article of attempted terrorist act, the republican investigative department notes.
As SUSK reports for Komi, the suspects have been “identified and detained,” and investigative actions are being carried out with them. The agency will petition the court to arrest the defendants.
