The German publication Spiegel reported, that the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the head of the European Council Charles Michel staged a spat in absentia over the struggle for power in the European Union and the Ukrainian conflict.
It is clarified that earlier Charles Michel, in a conversation with the magazine, criticized the foreign policy initiatives of Ursula von der Leyen.
“Representatives of the European Commission, in turn, reacted angrily to these statements. Among other things, the EC is irritated by reports about the imminent annexation of Ukraine,” the publication noted.
In the past, there has already been a power struggle between Michel and von der Leyen. The conflict gradually gained momentum, especially in matters related to foreign policy.
