The Ostankino District Court of Moscow left blogger Anna Bazhutova under arrest, who is accused in the case of military “fakes” (clause “e” of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) because of recording the stream. A Mediazona correspondent reported this from the courtroom.
During the announcement, the girl’s lover was not present in the courtroom, since the prosecution declared him as a witness. When Bazhutova asked him to return to the hearing, the judge refused. The streamer told Mediazona that she partially admitted guilt.
During the meeting, the investigator argued that Bazhutova “maliciously contributed to the growth of socio-political tension” and “previously lived on the territory of a foreign state.” According to the streamer herself, she left for Kazakhstan because her lover received a job offer.
“As soon as he finished the work project, we immediately went back. I don’t have any acquaintances or connections there. I'm not going back there. I didn’t like it there,” the girl explained.
As it became known during the meeting, the investigators cited recordings from a stream in which Bazhutova participated, which appeared on the “Men’s Legion” telegram channel in 2023, as the reason for the case. At the same time, the streamer claims that she has nothing to do with these posts, and she deleted her stream from Twitch. “My streams had a gaming theme and did not concern politics — what happened only happened once,” Bazhutova explained.
According to her, during the stream, “due to her heightened emotionality,” she read a message in chat and took it “to heart.” After this, the girl claims, she “immediately realized her mistake” and apologized for her statements on the stream itself. She later deleted the post. “I sincerely repent, and I understand that I could offend people,” she added.
In June, pro-war Telegram channels published fragments from the broadcasts of a girl known on Twitch under the nickname YokoBovich. In them, she retells the memories of residents of the Ukrainian Bucha about life under Russian occupation. In particular, Bazhutova read a story about a girl who was allegedly raped by a Russian military man for a week, and after refusing to go to Russia with him, her mother was killed. During the broadcast, the streamer called the Russians “fuckers” who “should fucking kill everyone for such crap.”
On August 18, Bazhutova was sent to a pre-trial detention center.
