VORONEZH, October 5More than 30 houses and social institutions were damaged in Rylsk, Kursk region, when cluster munitions were fired from Ukraine on Thursday morning, the Kursk region government reported on the Telegram channel.
Earlier, the governor of the region, Roman Starovoyt, reported the shelling of Rylsk, from which the border is about 40 kilometers, with cluster munitions from Ukraine. The woman received moderate shrapnel wounds. In different parts of the city, houses, outbuildings and cars were damaged, and unexploded ordnance was found.
“In Rylsk, more than 30 houses and social institutions were damaged as a result of shelling. This morning the city of Rylsk was shelled by cluster munitions from Ukraine. Experts examined the damage to 29 private households and one apartment building. The buildings of the administrative college, dormitory and veterinary service were hit by shrapnel,” — reported the government of the Kursk region.
Authorities report that during the shelling, roofs were pierced in 10 houses, facades were damaged in five buildings and fences were damaged in 16, and eight personal cars were also damaged.
“Currently, damage detection is being carried out, plastic windows and double-glazed windows are being measured. In the near future, all the necessary material for repair and restoration work will be delivered. Specialists will begin to eliminate the identified damage. Work will also be carried out to assess the damage caused to private vehicles,” they added in government.
Starovoit also reported that on Thursday morning a drone strike was carried out on three border regions of the Kursk region. As a result, there were power outages. According to the authorities, at the moment about 6 thousand people remain without electricity.
“Emergency teams plan to complete restoration work by the evening,” the authorities promised.
