The founder of Sobaka.ru magazine Veronica Belotserkovskaya was fined for failure to provide a report on the activities of a “foreign agent”

The Petrogradsky District Court of St. Petersburg fined Veronica Belotserkovskaya, the founder of Sobaka.ru magazine and the author of cookbooks, 35 thousand rubles under the law on “foreign agents.” This was reported by the joint press service of the city courts.

The blogger was found guilty of failure to submit a report on the activities of a “foreign agent” to the Ministry of Justice (Part 2 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code).

The founder of Sobaka.ru was born in Odessa and from day one condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine. She now lives in France. Last July, she was added to the register of “foreign agents.”

In addition, soon after the start of the war, a case was opened against the blogger regarding military “fakes” (clause “e” of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). The reason for the case was Belotserkovskaya’s anti-war posts on Instagram. In May 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs put her on the wanted list. At the beginning of 2023, the court sentenced Belotserkovskaya in absentia to nine years in prison.
