MOSCOW, Oct 8, Vasily Bogdanov. Mixed martial arts fighter ( MMA) Alexander Shlemenko said that it was high time for the leadership of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to lift the ban on the use of flags.
UFC CEO Dana White previously announced the corresponding decision. In the spring of 2022, Ecuadorian fighter Marlon Vera, in an interview with journalist Jose Luis Santacruz, said that the UFC had banned promotion fighters from entering fights with the national flags of their countries.
“To be honest, I don’t feel anything about this. I think it was high time to lift this ban. But it’s unlikely that any of the other organizations and sports will pay attention to this. Everything is at the discretion of each leader,” Shlemenko said.
