SOCHI, October 9 Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation — Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov and Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, in the presence of athlete Roman Kostomarov at the Biotechmed forum, inspected the Skolkovo stand, where bionic prostheses were presented, the correspondent reports.
Several types of bionic prostheses are presented at the Skolkovo stand. A bionic prosthetic arm, developed and produced in Skolkovo, was also installed in Kostomarov. The athlete admitted that he was ready to test a domestically produced prosthetic foot.
After viewing the exhibition, Kostomarov thanked Manturov and Murashko, noting that while it is difficult for him to stand in one place for a long time, he needs to constantly move.
Olympic ice dancing champion Roman Kostomarov was admitted to intensive care with pneumonia on January 10 and spent 175 days in the hospital. Due to the necrosis that developed, he underwent several amputations of his arms and legs. It was reported that part of his brain was damaged, bleeding occurred and a hematoma formed. Later, he published videos of training after prosthetics. In August, Kostomarov went on the ice in public for the first time since his illness. The athlete appeared before the audience at the end of the performance with the participation of his wife Oksana Domnina during Ilya Averbukh’s gala show “Letters of Love” in Sochi.
