Lukashenko proposed to the Novosibirsk region to jointly develop the drone industry

NOVOSIBIRSK, October 10 President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko proposed to the Governor of the Novosibirsk region Andrei Travnikov to jointly develop unmanned aircraft and the field of artificial intelligence, the government of the Siberian region reports.
The Novosibirsk delegation led by the governor is conducting a working trip to Belarus. On Tuesday, a working meeting between the President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko and the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Andrei Travnikov took place in Minsk, at which the head of Belarus proposed joining forces in innovative areas.
“For example, in promising, very important new areas — the areas of artificial intelligence and unmanned aerial systems, taking into account the tasks of import substitution and ensuring technological sovereignty with an eye to rapid development,” Lukashenko suggested.
He noted that the country is currently heading towards structuring its capabilities in Russia and in this sense, one of the centers through which Belarus will work with the entire Siberian region, taking into account its geographical location and significance, will be Novosibirsk.

«»Mutual visits of our delegations are frequent and constant, but high-level meetings are also important — they give additional impetus to our relations. We face urgent tasks to ensure technological sovereignty, and we need to coordinate efforts to eliminate duplication in production and not miss important niches “In cooperation between the Novosibirsk region and the Republic of Belarus, we follow these principles,” Andrei Travnikov said in turn.
In particular, he said that the Novosibirsk region is interested in a wide range of Belarusian machine tool industries. On the other hand, in the Novosibirsk Academgorodok there are innovative enterprises that have mastered unique components for machine tool building, and here the parties can unite — Novosibirsk innovators will receive orders, and Belarusian machine builders will receive modern equipment.
“»Two more vectors are unmanned aerial systems and artificial intelligence. These areas are extremely relevant for the Novosibirsk region, and we need to join forces with the powerful IT cluster of Minsk,» said the Novosibirsk governor.
