A case was opened against a St. Petersburg journalist, local historian and administrator of the Ingermanlandia group on VKontakte for the rehabilitation of Nazism. The city police reported this.
The detainee is suspected of denying the facts established by the International Military Tribunal and insulting the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland (parts 2 and 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code). The Ministry of Internal Affairs also published photographs of the detainee.
According to Sever.Realii, the person involved in the case is called Dmitry Vitushkin. According to Fontanka, on October 12, the investigative department for the Admiralteysky district of St. Petersburg opened a criminal case against him, the man was detained for two days and placed in a temporary detention center.
According to the investigation, in December the St. Petersburg resident was placed in Ingria » post in which security forces saw signs of the rehabilitation of Nazism. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vitushkin’s comments also became the reason for the case — in them, according to the police, there was “falsification of historical facts and discrediting the liberation of Leningrad from the siege.”
The description of the public “Ingermanlandia” on VKontakte says that the community hosts publications about history and culture Ingria, traditions and events in the region, as well as information about the indigenous peoples of the region. Vitushkin himself previously worked for the publications “Zaks.ru”, “Luna Info”, “Bench” and hosted his own program on “Fashion Radio”.
