Paul McCartney told how Yoko Ono stopped The Beatles from writing music

MOSCOW, 16 Oct. Musician and producer Paul McCartney, in a recent episode of the podcast “McCartney: A Life In Lyrics,” spoke about how Yoko Ono, the wife of John Lennon, interfered with the work of members of The Beatles, People reports.
McCartney explained that this is about an incident that occurred in 1968 during the recording of The White Album. At that time, Lennon and Ono had just started a relationship, which is why the band leader constantly took the artist to rehearsals. This irritated the other participants.

“It was an intervention,” McCartney said. — The four of us worked with producer George Martin. Everything was fine with us. So, without being particularly confrontational, we just held back.”

According to him, the members of The Beatles had to accept and tolerate the presence of It, since it was impossible to resist it.

“The idea was that if John wanted this to happen, there was no reason not to,” Paul McCartney explained.

The musician was the bassist for The Beatles from 1960 to 1970. After leaving the band and to this day, he has been engaged in solo activities.

In March 1997, McCartney was awarded a knighthood for his contribution to the development of music. In 2011, according to a Rolling Stone magazine poll, he was voted one of the best bass players of all time.
