
MOSCOW, October 16. Venezuelan PDVSA has resumed five joint ventures with Russian companies, and the republic will also implement a number of projects with Gazprom, said the Minister of People's Power for Oil of Venezuela and President of PDVSA Pedro Tellechea.
“Venezuela is grateful for the interest of Russian enterprises in developing trade in various types of raw materials and consumables for the oil and gas and petrochemical industries. Among other things, the activities of five joint ventures with PDVSA have been resumed, and there are a number of other projects that we will implement with Gazprom,” — Tellechea said during the plenary meeting of the intergovernmental commission of Russia and Venezuela.
In addition, according to him, the republic is working to develop geological research and exploration in order to continue to produce oil and gas on its territory.
“We have made significant progress with Gazprom in terms of gas production in Venezuela,” he answered reporters when asked what projects with Gazprom are being implemented in the republic.
Also during his speech at the meeting, the minister said that in the near future at the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. 40 young Venezuelans will begin studying at Gubkin.
The seventeenth intergovernmental Russian-Venezuelan commission is being held on Monday in Moscow under the chairmanship of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and the Minister of People's Power for Oil of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and PDVSA President Pedro Tellechea.
