PERM, October 19 Russian President Vladimir Putin asked the Hockey Federation and the Ministry of Sports to resolve the issue with the “hockey businessmen” who “drag” young players abroad.
Putin emphasized that the agency business causes “obvious damage to the country.”
“
"Many times already He said: we need to understand what we should do with these hockey businessmen who are taking children from sports schools and dragging them abroad. It is clear that we have a free country, it is clear that every person makes his own choice, and we should not interfere with this. But it is also clear that this is a business, and not always regulated and not always noble,” Putin said, addressing the President of the Russian Hockey Federation Vladislav Tretyak at a meeting of the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports.
Putin added that a legal framework and guarantees must be defined both for the state and for the hockey players themselves, along with their entourage.
“
"Little is being done in this regard. And I would like to ask the Ministry of Sports to return to this issue, and the federation too. There is a lot of dependence there, there is a lot of money circulating, but this causes obvious damage to us,” Putin said.
